The Federation of International Centres for the Preservation of the Architectural Heritage organizes since 1992 and every two years the International Congress of the Rehabilitation of the Architectural Heritage and Edification with the idea of exchanging experiences and fix rules of action in the defence of the cultural patrimony.

The 8th International Congress of Rehabilitation of the Architectural Heritage and Edification took place in Buenos Aires and Salta, Argentina. Is organized by the International Centre for the Preservation of the Architectural Heritage, Argentina, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires and the Government of the Province of Salta. For this Congress, it was elected as subject of basis of development "The Social Dimension of the Heritage".
